Installation Overview

The next step in building a green is to prepare the area where the green will be constructed. Clear the area, which is everywhere inside the second outline, of grass and other ground vegetation material, to your desired depth for sub-base, as best you can with a hoe or by mechanical means. If you are in an area that has a lot of vegetation you may lay down a landscaping retarder, found at most home improvement centers in a rolled form. By utilizing the techniques laid out in this booklet you can avoid any severe settling. Give caution to newly graded areas that are common in new housing developments. These areas may have been back-filled and should be given ample time to naturally settle.
